PDFOutliner pour Mac

I think there is no other app capable of automatically generating TOCs for pdfs. When it cannot recognise them atumatically, it offers a convenient way to enter them manually. I keep using this app although some features have partially stopped working in version 1.4. I hope its devoloper releases a new version soon.

trial works great and the auto TOC maker was awesome

It works exactly as advertised and does it quickly. The only other PDS apps I've been able to find that can create a ToC (and none of them do it automatically) have been complete editing solutions with prices starting around $60 and quickly going up. It was not immediately clear how to set up page numbering, and this was not explained in the guide. But after emailing the author, I got a reply the next morning with a link to a video tutorial showing how this feature works, and it works well - like the rest of the app. Highly Recommended.

Good software, nice price. With text-based pdf the Auto ToC works and works great. And even with pdf where text's pages are just tiff/jpg you cannot use auto ToC of course, but it can help to build a ToC.

PDFOutliner is great! It works as advertised, and quickly and accurately created a table of contents (what Acrobat calls bookmarks) for a lengthy document. It's easy to use, and the built-in "quick start" guide does a good job of explaining most of the functions. The only thing I wish I could do in PDFOutliner is indent existing TOC items with the keyboard or a toolbar button, and be able to do it to multiple items at once. As it is, I can only indent them by dragging them up and in with the mouse, and can only indent them one at a time.
